Michal Weinberg was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, where her parents served as diplomats. Later they had settled in Eilat by the Red Sea, the southwest point of Israel. Her childhood and adolescence were influenced by the sea and the Sinai beaches.

Michal graduated from Shenkar College in Israel, where she currently teaches the swimwear design course. Michal specializes in building brands from the point of conception.

Her ability is both in recognizing the market and in building the right fit and styles for this market. She was the designer of Scubidu, Turkiz, Pilpel Gold, and La City, all built as original brands.

Today she is responsible for the lines Profile and Turkiz by Gottex
